Welcome to Foundations of Online Teaching!

Good teaching can happen in any course modality, but moving to an online environment requires intentional planning to achieve the same learning outcomes as in a face-to-face course By completing these modules, you will be better prepared to teach online courses.

 

Earning a badge/certificate

You are able to earn one badge per workshop. To earn a badge:

  • Review the lesson and complete the quiz at the end. 
  • Submit the assignment under the section named "Master" at the end of each lesson page.

Complete all eight workshops and you will be awarded our digital certification!

Canvas Zoom Kaltura

This module will teach you how to set up an engaging, well-organized, and accessible Canvas course site. It covers adding TAs, uploading files, creating Quizzes and Modules, and setting up student group activities.

This module covers how to use Zoom video conferencing by itself or from within a Canvas course. It covers scheduling meetings, meeting security controls, and best practices for teaching via Zoom.

This module shows you how to integrate video in your Canvas site using the My Media and Media Gallery tools (Kaltura). It covers how to record and publish videos and create video assignments and quizzes.
